I began this little project together with my Mi-26.
Most parts of construction and painting are done. I didn't take many photos as there were not that many steps and parts.
For the body I used Tamiya Dark Grey, followed by some scratches with Nato Black and Gunmetal and Aluminium drybrushing.
The armor plates are done with Tamiya White and few drops of Deck Tan.
Magazine and blades received some heavy metal drybrushing and scratches.
Next will be gloss coat, decals and further weathering with washes.

Thank you, Torsten.
Okay, the first one is (almost) done. That was fun.
I am quite happy with the result. The decals are in fact stickers and I almost dipped them in water.
Not sure if I can apply some clear coat over it, but so far there is not much silvering with them.
The red light of the gun still needs some paint. It is molded in red plastic and I wanted it to look different from the "eye" of the mecha, maybe some dark red?
I want to make a diorama but can not decide if I should place them in a destroyed cityscape or maybe somewhere else.
The second Juggernaut may be damaged or destroyed, not sure yet either.
Thank you, Torsten.

Wow! That's so cool, 2 thumbs for you 👍👍 I've never seen this kit before, I wonder how soon we are likely to see drones like this on the real battlefield.

JD, Neil, thank you very much for your kind words. 🙂
The only thing that is really bugging me is the crooked barrel of the gun. Don't know when that happened?
Though there is an army of drones in this series which serves as the antagonist faction, the Juggernauts and other mecha are manned.
The Juggernauts in particular are constructed with little care to pilot safety and survivability.
Speaking of pilots, until now I didn't feel like painting him yet, because I plan to display the mech with a closed cockpit.
Maybe I'll add him later as I need to improve my figure painting skills anyway. 😄

Very cool this "fighting spider". I like the signs of age and wear very much.

I also like gundam and sifi vehicles, but i've to less time to build and paint them all that i want😌
It was a good idea to weather this "spider" not to much so you have found a good optical balance and the blank metal scratches fits very well- LIKE IT

Thank you Stefan and Simon.
It makes me happy that you guys like it too, as I am quite pleased with the result so far.
The magazine was heavily scratched because they are hastily ejected on the battlefield and collected once the fight's over to be reused.

The other two Juggernauts are WIP.
I decided to build them in one go because I don't know if I manage to get the same off white mixed another time.
In retrospect I should have build them together with the first mech from the start, but oh well...
One of them is the general purpose unit with its 57mm cannon and two machine guns, the other is a long range type with a huge cannon that can fold up for movement and when parking the mech.
Still not sure how to display them. Probably one tiny diorama/vignette for each of them.
Assembly is partially done and they are ready for primer and paint.

Cockpits and armor plates of both Juggernaut are painted.
It is hard to tell, but I think I am close enough with the new colour mix of the off white to the first model.
Not sure about the decals yet. Maybe they get some custom ones or none at all.
I don't want to give them decals depicting them as one of the main characters machines and try some stuff out.
Everyone of them will get their own Reignleif, which is the "big brother" of the Juggernaut. (I collect too many kits, help 😄)

Instead I fancy some camo nets and maybe other stuff, I am not entirely sure yet.

More stuff done. Body painted and some more assembly done. Did a little screw up with one of the machines which makes it pretty impossible to attach the armour.
Scratches and clear coat coming soon.

Juggernauts are done. Now it is time to begin work on the dioramas or vignettes. Still pondering... 😄

They look good already, I like the subtle wheatring. Now I am curious about the diorama.

Thank you JD and Torsten.
First dio is in progress. Inspired by the box art I thought about placing one of the Juggernauts on an elevated position like a destroyed or damaged highway bridge.
Maybe I can reduce the size a bit but due to their legs even the smaller Juggernauts still need some space.

Thanks Simon, but the base did not develop as I expected and I was not very happy with it.
Currently I am working on another base for the "Artillery Juggernaut" where I want try out some stuff I've seen Uncle NightShift do.
I really do need a hot wire cutter for that styrofoam, should make it a lot easier. 😄
That and maybe some other material, to be able to create different settings in my dioramas. Most of the time it is either a concrete apron or some grass and bushes and I crave a bit more variety. Pictures will follow around the weekend.

First one is done. 🙂
As promised I also uploaded pictures of the first diorama.
It was far too big and I was not happy at all with the way I applied the concrete texture.
For the new one I decided to let let the Juggernaut do some indirect fire support by elevating the cannon to the maxiumum and using the mech's body to make it look like it is in firing position, ready to absorb the recoil. I hope it looks that way. 😄
The base reveived some generous coatings of different acrylic textures, sand and little rocks as well as some grass and brushes. After that I painted everything black, sprayed some highlights with white and then worked the ground with Tamiya Flat Earth and Desert Yellow.
The greenery was painted with Desert Yellow and a mix of said Yellow and Dark Green. Some individual brush parts were painted in IJN Cockpit green and I added some Flat Red to get a bit more colour in.
I like it so far, it is still rather simple but I could try some new things out.
As the sky is rather grey I will take some daylight pictures when the weather is better.
The other vignettes are WIP.

The Juggernauts and the rather simple signettes are all done. 🙂
I also build one of the Barret drones, that scavenge the battlefield for spare parts and help with combat logistics, like reloading the Juggernauts.
These were a lot of fun to build, I like these Bandai kits.
For vignettes and dioramas I need to learn to get a bit more variety in the future... 😉

Cool dios!
The juggernaut looks so great, really like the paint job and really like it in combination with the rock base!
With some battle marks (crater?) it would suggest a very nice battlefield.
Also like the color of the smaller one!
Since it's a work drone, I might have added a little more chipping and weathering.
Bu that's just my opinion😁
However, nice👌

Thank you very much S M, Torsten and Simon. 🙂
No offense taken, Simon. 😄
I was thinking about weathering the drone a bit more too, but settled for a more subtle weathering like the Juggernaut has. I still have two more I can have some fun with. 🙂
With the Barrett it really shows it is a "toy" as the arms are hollow.
I am thinking about putting some more effort in the other two and fill out the arms.
With those I think I will try some other camo or maybe heavier wear and tear.
The colour is not correct either. In the Anime it is more orange and not as red as is mine. But I think it is still fitting for a "work drone" deployed on a base to be very visible.
As there are five of the bigger Reginleif Feldreß ( that's how the mecha are called in the series) waiting in my stash I can do some more dioramas in the future.
But first I need to procure some more diorama materials and get some inspiration to achieve more variety, because right now my scenery is a bit repetetive...
