1/72 Revell Do28 C.1 Skyservant "Air Liberia"
This is the livery I have chosen for this model.
It will be a fictional model created for my airport diorama using a real aircraft and a real livery that hasn't been seen used together.

Another look at the same livery this time on a Trislander.
These are the paints I have selected for the interior so far.
My first Job, erase any abnormalities on the interior.
There were some ejector pin marks and a weird pattern that looked as if Revell had tried to cover the old Matchbox label on the inside of the fuselage.

All 6 passenger, 2 crew seats and cabin floor clipped and cleaned up ready for the next phase.
All primed using Vallejo Model Air Grey Primer.
I had lots of the usual problems with the Airbrush so the out come is an absolute win in my eyes.
After priming I started painting the seats.(Right)

The Seats are fully painted, cabin floor is also painted, both engines are fully assembled and I found the Air Liberia decals I was looking for.
Interior nearly finished.
Another angle to see the basic but necessary added detail.
And the engines and wings have all been glued together.
After putting a request out on a facebook modelling page I received a set of flight control yokes and adapted it to fit the centre console.
I believe this came from a Matchbox Twin Otter but this does the trick very nicely.

Instrument panel is now in and painted.
And hair removed......
And hair removed......
Everything's nearly ready to be closed up soon.
Using an unused decal set from an Airfix Red Arrows 50th Hawk I did my best to create an overhead panel.
I decided to use standard tissue paper for the curtains.
Watered-down PVA and Vallejo Model Air Blue bought along a nice look.
I used scrap
Fly netting that we have on our windows might work for the carg
Just a little bit of Vallejo Model Air Black made it look like a black cargo net IMHO.
I glued it in the left fuselage half before the interior goes in.
Curtains are now in too.
Interior now glued in too.
I've made and installed a netting g support post, in reality these are removable to allow easier baggage loading.
I think it's all ready to go.
One last view before the 2 halves close for the final time.
All closed up.
Fuselage is now all filled and sanded.
I've temporarily PVA glued on the 2 doors.
They stuck out abit so I used masking tape to keep them in place whilst the PVA dried.

And the cockpit glazing has been dry fitted for testing!
Windows masked.
I decided to go for it and put the engines onto the fuselage.
Then landing gear and I used Humbrol liquid maskol to blank off the wing inserts.
I've added a scratch built antenna to the tail that, from what I can see, is quite unique to the Skyservant.
It wouldn't look right without it!
I think she maybe ready for primer now.....

Finally after a while of nothing I managed to find a way to start priming my models again!
I also masked off and painted the Yellow.
I also masked off and painted the Yellow.
The black fuselage stripehas been masked and painted.
Touch ups have been taken care of.

I've masked and painted the tail yellow.
I had to repaint 1 of the black fuselage stripes and I painted the white on the roof.
The tyres have been painted.
Decals ate on the fuselage.
I have to say it's better than I imagined!

WINGS ON!
She's really starting to look like an aircraft now instead of a square ramp with engines and a tail.
She's really starting to look like an aircraft now instead of a square ramp with engines and a tail.
And she's nearly done!
So I've decided to add the "Last Fligjt" decals.
This Is to commemorate that this aircraft is ex Leftwaffe 58+29 which was the last Dornier DO 28 Skyservant to fly with the Luftwaffe.

I decided to put the Registration in the Yellow as the decals were slightly yellowed.
And She's Finished!!!!!!
I'm very happy with the half decent result but more than anything I actually really really enjoyed this build!
I think the enjoyment is worth more than the actual result for me!

Following! Found an old Matchbox boxing in my parents basement, but the clear sprue is missing. Might just build it as a paint mule….

Very nice details.
I have seen the latest progress by chance. You should also write something in the space where mates comment so that we can find out about project updates 😉
Good job so far! 👍.

Sorry Cuajete I thought writing the updates on the photo captions would be easier.

For anyone who hasn't seen yet, I have finished the fully detailed interior and closed up the fuselage.

Don't worry, Adam. I didn't know either until I realized with time.
Writing in this place notifies those of us who have written that there are new comments from colleagues and possible updates 😉

I really like that Yellow - such a hard colour to get good even coverage. Nice job on the Black stripe too! Patience and masking skill gives a great result!
