NA 36a Apache Racer#44 Essex Wire Corp.

Unfortunately, the Academy Kit is rare, so I was happy to get one. It keeps what it promises and seems to allow for unadulterated crafting fun. I also find it exciting to see what differences there are to the high plane model.

You can probably already see ,I also opted for an open cockpit window for variety. The early NA 36/P51a did not have a sliding canopy. 

I am very happy with the color. At the moment I'm still painting with a spray can and details with a brush, but I'm slowly thinking about an airbrush 

 

 

 

 

The decals from High Planes were, as I had already imagined, the challenge, this time I was prepared.
With clear varnish on the carrier film and hot water to loosen it, it just worked. 

 

 

I'm happy with the result, even if it's not perfect. That's not what it's about, it's about the joy of building.
