Another project I have been failing to update. This, the Union boxing of the ancient Revell 240. Some work needed on the body to make it more resemble the race car. Headlight covers are provided but they don't fit well so a lot of puttying and sanding in my future. My first attempts documented below. Engine was very nice and went together smoothly. I wired it and also drilled out and beveled the velocity stacks on the ITBs as they were just flat blobs. I broke through a couple of them slightly but they still look way better than they did. Chassis is also complete and the engine and driveshaft are installed as well. More details to add to the engine bay and also the bodywork is ongoing. More soon.

All done and smoothed out. Tons of body work on this one. I probably should have cut the springs a bit and dropped this a hair. The real car sits a bit high but this is more like a rally version. I decided to cut my losses and button it up though. It's an old kit after all and had its expected shortcomings. But I still enjoyed it.

Thank you both! The engine was the highlight so I wanted to make sure and really commit some time to making it look good.

I really need to learn how to do engines one day. My highlight usually is closing the bonnet.

Haha. Engines are easy to practice on!! And f you don't like the results then you can glue the hood shut. And thanks Martin!
