So, working on rivits.. its too smooth, so its had a wash to highlight rivits so I can making them a little more prominant.
Also, on starboard side, widow opened up and filled out.
On the Port side, one window deleted, need to add aft window.

Then I should be ok to seal up the halfs ready for cockpit etc to be installed.

Last nights fun.. Port side rear window added, slight filling needed on bottom edge but otherwise perfect.

Now I just need to mark out and engrave the panel around it.

So further update, deletion of centre refueling port (which was not on the A's) and the belcher bits short sponsoons.
Having to add some rivet detail as part of it.

New engraving around the new glazing for the opening part on the port side.
Lots of bits cut off, lots of bits going on.. still no closer to sealing the fueslage.

Starting to come together, halves are together, underside is on and now looking at sponsoons.

Oddly the only ones I have that match the green required, are 50 year old pots of Airfix M3
So will be an interesting time painting

She's wearing her clothes and... started on the makeup.
Decals are a mix from the spares box.

The windshield is not yet fixed in place (hence gaps)
Also, making the additional armour.. which went over the transmission and engines.
Thats the white plastic which I am scratch building into the armour.

Additional armour test fit, not bad at all, fits well and looks the part. Oddly in pictures I can find of the amour fit.. they look smooth

I did not know Revell ever did a Sea King. Is it a re-pop of the Hasegawa one?

I wonder why we never see any of those type of Revell kits on this side of the pond? It took forever to see the English F-4, and they have been out of stock forever. As a matter of fact all Revell kits are starting to get hard to find here, they are always out of stock. How is the kit, I will get the Hasegawa one if I can ever find one.

Its same as the Hasegawa, so fit is generally really good if not slightly fiddly in places (nose and glazing)
Engines needed a little fettling to fit but the rest generally just fit together.

The biggest letdown with either boxing is their insistance in only supplying one set of sponsons, so depending on the boxing, will depend if you get long or short sponsons, which will then define what you can build it as unless you get the Belcher bits short sponsons. Which is what I needed to do.

Looks good Augie.Agree about the sponsons.The other niggle is that the release of RN/RAF versions have later style blades.Airwaves do a revision set but no longer in production.

From what I saw in my boxings they have the same blades so didnt question it. Plus, in the instance of these birds, they were re-bladed over their lives to make supply easier.
