Nice result! I choosed this kit as my first plane model and I exactly know what you are saying when having fitting issues. I had the same. Is the nose that dark on the RAF scheme?

Hi Thomas, thanks for your comment. Because I don't always go for ultimate realism, the nose may not be the correct colour for the scheme it is based on (in fact I am sure I have seen it painted black sometimes). I am often trying out new techniques or paint or just using what colours I have to hand! So, when I say 'in RAF scheme' I perhaps should have said 'loosely based on an RAF scheme'!!

Album info

I started this on 27th February 2023 so it has taken me nearly a year. The 'black dog' got to me for most of the year and then latterly I had I health scare which did not improve my mood! It has taken a lot of effort to sit back down to the bench in the last few weeks to get this finished, but I did it. It's certainly not accurate and there are a number of small pieces missing, but I am OK with that!

Anyway, this was mainly airbrushed with SMS paints (my new favourite paints), with some MRP and Alclad Milspec and metallics.

The kit itself was OK to work with. The fit of the pieces along the spine of the fuselage were the most problematic requiring a lot of sanding and filling - I did my best with them! Also, the forward air intakes were fiddly and ill fitting which again I did my best with!

The kit I bought was of the German 'Baron Spirit' so I used 3rd party decals to turn it into an RAF version. As I mentioned earlier, it's unlikely to be accurate to any actual aircraft!
