Album info

Hasegawa kit, more or less straight from the box, built just for fun (instead of being part of some theme) because I liked the look of the I-16.
The paint scheme shows the 'just for fun' bit in that I should have created sharper edges between the green colors, but I just liked the look of the feathered edges 🙂
At the time I was doing this kit the 'Wings over Wanaka' guys had just restored four I-16 into flying condition so there were some great reference pics of these (mostly Type 24) warbirds. One of the Wanaka I-16 birds is currently owned by collector Kermit Weeks who has a blog on youtube at Youtube Video
