General Motors FM-2 Wildcat

The FM-2 is the last and most built version of the fighter and also the last model in my Wildcat trilogy. It was built from the Hobby Boss kit. To correct the wrong shape of the front fuselage and the engine cowling, I used the kit from Vector, which also includes a new and matching engine. Other additions include a new propeller from Vector, etched gun ports in the wings from eduard and resin wheels from Vector. The cockpit details have also been improved with etched parts from eduard. The model was painted with Glossy Dark Sea Blue from Mr. Color and clear coat from Modelmaster. The markings for a Wildcat of the Navy Squadron VC-93 on the USS Petrof Bay in action off Okinawa are from Techmod.
