Well, very nice so far ! The Opel Engine should not be so rusty. 🙂

My thanks for the positive comments! But about the engine ... I prepared it for use with chipping, but I found no good source with comments about the actual colour of the engine. Does anyone perhaps know? Where they left in 'natural' colours or were they painted in a typical colour?

Keep it the color it is
the engins would have rusted over time and have a shit load of crude dust and oil

A few smaller updates. I really wish I could find more time at the bench...

Finished at last! A frustrating project for me. Real life interfering much too often resulted in smaller worksessions. On top of that, a few total goofs, that forced me to start over on some parts. But again, there comes a time when you have to drop the brush and stop micromanaging everything. I learnt a lot about the newer techniques, that knowledge will only help in future endeavours. I'm quite pleased with the leather seating, at least that one came out the way I wanted. The biggest disappointment is painting the wood (equipment) I still haven't found a good way to get it done the right way, so any pointers will be more than welcome!

Incidently, I wasn't too pleased with my "mud' so I picked up some of Tamiya's texture paint, hopefully that'll go smoother next time!
Thanks for following this and helping me out! Again a big thanks to Holger!!

I think the finished model looks very good! I use a combination of enamel base and oil colours for wooden tools. For flat planking you may also use decals available in the market for scales 1/35 and up.

@ Aghis: Thanks for the tip. Thus far I used a combination of Vallejo Acrylics and Oils. More precise a yellow acrylic basecoat, topped off by several browns, reds and yellows in oils.

Album info

Here are some flavour photo's of a (test) project in progress. It's my first model in well over 25 years, so I'm using it as a testbed for the newer techniques. It's an old ESCI model (1/9 scale) that never quite got finished.
