Spitfire LF.IXE

Scale:
1:48
Status:
Completed

Third WW2 Soviet Air Force fighter in a row and this one, I think, will be the last one before changing the subject, scale and era.

But for now, lend-lease Spitfire with red star. Back to cheap ICM kit and expectations are not too high but hey, this is just practice for the future.

Trying some scratch building too, making seat belts and associated stuff myself. Some photos later...

Right, first picture of this comes at a quite late stage but later than... no, better later than... um, whatever.

Rudder will be painted white, so that's why there is no green there. Otherwise camouflage is complete now. If you have very good eyes, you may spot scratch built seat belts on and behind the seat but if you do, you're an eagle and not a human. Sorry but my inadequate camera won't allow better closeup pics.

Tried to fiddle with the camera settings and already the pics (two latest only) are so much better. It's almost complete now, next some panel lines, a bit of weathering and clear parts and that's it then.

Spitfire is now ready and newest pictures have been added for you to view. I left weathering to a minimum because I wanted to have newly delivered plane, so only small chipping to rotor blades, door and wing root just below the door is evident.
Panel lines have been enhanced with all three Tamiya colors, black for upper side, brown for lower side and grey for white rudder.
