No pressure, but I am also watching 😄 I am in awe of your flawless execution of the sidearmor plates.

Nice bit of weathering.

well, speaking of the armour... that´s kind of a small problem I guess. Dragon produced the upper plate on the left side a bit too short... (see pic 4)
I´m not yet 100% happy with the floor, but I´ll do the small painting stuff first.

It's German, it's a half-track. I'm in as well!! How can I not be! 😄 haha!

It's always something with Dragon, isn't it 😠 😉 lol

Luckily it's easy to fix with a bit of plastic card but stil... strange this issue is not mentioned in any of the reviews for this kit.

I did a quick check on a number of the Dragon Sd.Kfz.251 kits I have but all are containing parts that are the correct length. Both the locators in the hull and the top plate itself are 13mm wide.

I do know Dragon has updated parts in those 251 kits so maybe you got a "pre-update" kit? That's the trouble with that. One never knows what kit they are getting... with or without updated parts 🤔

Great! I hope you use some of that glasses in this project! 🙂

Not much scuccsess with this kit... actually quite annoying. 🤔 I tried to mask the cammo with a liquid mask, but had to leave before I was completely done. So the masking stayed on there way too long and was really pain to remove. Because of that I had to repaint almost the entire cammo, which all led to a really messed up surface and paintjob. I´ll try to save it with some weathering, but I won´t start all over again.

At least a lesson leared. Never a Dragon 251 again, fitting upper and lower hull is literally pain (as you need a lot of force), never leave masking fluid on too long...

@Es-haq: Paintjob looks good from a meter away, but anything closer than that... well... 😮 🤔
That´s why there will be no extras here, only the two figures which came with the kit.
But thanks for your support, I think I´ve got something better to use you glasses on 😉

Looking good 🙂

well lets agree on it looks good from a meter away... as I said before, masking went more than wrong.(pic😎 And the suspension is messed up because of the 6 missing torsion bars. (rear part of the vehicle sits too low, one weel will always be in the air).
I´ll add a little dust and dirt but after that it will be banned to the second row... too far away for a close inspection 😄

Well, I`m in too. I like Hanomags very much!

Well, Christian, we´ve already reached final destination. Train termiantes here.😉
I´ve just added some more dust and dirt, but I´ll leave it just like that. While doing the final weathering I came across some other odds with this kit (all in pictures: 4, 10, 11).

All in all: I can´t recomend this kit. You´ve seen the issues. Fitting upper and lower hull is pain, cleanin up the DS figures is impossible, painting them is terrible. Their Faces look pretty odd, well...

But Dragon isn´t the only one to blame here, I am the one who screwd up the paintjob. But I can live with it, in the second row, in the darkest spot of my display shelf. 😄

ZZZ... Well Fabian, I call this one an excellent build, but not finished now. But with some little additional work this one will become a beauty for sure. I was always looking for a perfect Sd. Kfz.251, but did not found it right now. Mixing the AFV kits with some Dragon parts might be a way to go. But anyway.. excellent build so far mate !

@Fabian: Haha! Yeah, there certainly are some odd issues. still, with all the problems, you've made it look good! 👍 It does deserve a spot in your display cabinet 🙂 in the darkest spot? LOL😉

@Christian: getting that perfect kit is, I think, the Holy Grail of modeling😉 I fear it will never happen. But that's what keeps things interesting as well, right? There's always something for us to work on and improve 🙂

Thanks. But I´m still not over the spoiled paintjob... hasn´t happend in years...😉
@Christian: of course, I could restart the enire painting process, but I can´t get bothered. I´ve have a lot of other kits lying around which need some attention aswell... and I´m slightly running out of storage space for almost completed kits.
I have another 251 in my stash and I promise I´ll do better on this one, ok? 😄
