Rafale C01
The kit comes with MB Mk.16F, which is wrong if you wanted to replicate the true Rafale C01. I have to look for seat replacement in the meantime.
Trying to give the the monitor display with plasticard sprayed in clear green. Just to make it a little more lively.
dry fit the cockpit.
primed with flat black.
lightly sprayed the canopy with clear yellow with a little of gold leaf.
filled and sanded off the rivet lines on the vertical stabilizer.
all primed with flat black.
small details painted, I decided to use silver for 2000L Fuel Tank based on prototype test of Rafale C01 and to add a little more variation of color.
preshaded with light grey
added custom pitot from melted sprue, better than nothing.
painted with a mix of Tamiya black, hull red, and light grey. added 2nd layer of the same mix with more hull red, hoping to give some subtle 'sun-kissed' surface (It doesn't seem to work, I might add 3rd layer of hull red slightly). but moving on and let the paint cure for now.
Adding more preshading and a bit of hull red.
Adding more preshading, later will be painted mixture of flat black, hull red, and grey.
Applying gloss varnish with tamiya clear.
putting some decals.
Applied matt varnish with tamiya flat clear.
All parts are assembled, I am quite satisfied with how the paint turn out for first time painting in RAM scheme, although still far from perfect.
the streaking from preshading can be seen.
Also added my custom made FOD from plasticard.
What's left is MB Mk.10Q Ejection seat. I will continue the build until I procure the seat.
