Curtiss Hawk 81-A-2

Scale:
1:72
Status:
Completed
Time spent:
15 Hrs

The model was built as a P-40G (Export P-40 remanufactured to P-40B specs). The model represents an aircraft from the 77 Pursuit Squadron of the 20 Pursuit Group. The 77 PS flew from airfields around the country but had their home base at March Field in California. During their training period they flew P-39's, P-38's and P-40's. They eventually moved to the ETO and started combat flying in 1943. They arrived in England flying the P-38 and ended the war flying P-51's. The model is built OOB using Starfighter decals to mark the aircraft for the 77 PS. I kept weathering to a minimum as pre-war aircraft were kept in good shape.
