The M-24 Chaffee is a US light tank used in the latter part of WWII and also in post war conflicts. Production started in 1944 and the tank was intended to replace the M5 Stuart in the light tank / reconnaissance role. The crews liked the new tank and appreciated the 75mm gun, but the new tank did not have the armor to fight it out with German tanks. Many of these tanks were passed to other countries after WWII. The last country to use the M-24 in combat was Pakistan during the Indo-Pakistani War in 1971. They engaged Indian T-55's and took heavy losses.

This is a nice little kit from Hasegawa that builds into a great looking model. Its a quick build. I added hooks and handles with floral wire and used Value gear tarps and crates as extra stowage. Watch the tracks - they are a tight fit!
