Superb model! I thought it was 1:48 at first.
How did you do the chipping effects?
20 March 2023, 06:44
Alexander Grivonev
Thx mates!

@Marius: I base painted the underside in RLM76 first. Then a layer of Future clear coat to protect the surface. After that the black was applied. The chips were made by gently scratching off the black paint with a toothpick and a bristle brush. I used fine sanding sponges as well to carefully remove paint from the edges. Additionally I used an acrylic pencil which matched the RLM76 color to intensify the chipping effect.

Album info

A well used late war Bf109 from the JG300 with a very peculiar camouflage

This version was equipped with "Eberspächer" acoustic pipes on the exhaust which gave off a particular sound to alert own flak crews of the presence of friendly aircraft in the area. These were made from scratch.

The 20mm MG 151 cannon pods under the wings were leftovers from an AZ Model kit
