And here we go again! This one was in my stash for decades, so time to build it!

Dave Flitton
Are you going to detail this in the interior at all?
25 November 2015, 21:17
Christian Meyerhoff
Hi Dave!

This one will be and oob build according to the competition rules.

I have one as well (reboxed by Smer) - following
(I have also spare Republican decals - in case you need some) 🙂
26 November 2015, 09:02
Christian Meyerhoff
Well Lukasz, that`s good news! Those decals would be nice!
26 November 2015, 09:37
Rob van Dodewaard
This one brings back sweet memories it as one of the first kits I build as a wee lad of 15 years old (long time ago)
26 November 2015, 11:00
Łukasz Gliński
@Christian - OK, will send you the pic of the decals in the evening
26 November 2015, 13:12

Count me in....it's a fascinating plane to look at
26 November 2015, 19:50
Christian Meyerhoff
Thank You for watching.
@ Wim: One of the ugliest planes I ever saw, but worth a build anyway 🙂
26 November 2015, 20:05
Christian Meyerhoff
First steps... The fuselage consists of four parts. Be prepared to fill some ejector marks on the inside. This Bird has many big windows, so they might be seen later.

Today's progress: Sanded down all the filler from the ejector marks and painted the interiour. Flat black Humbrol 33 as a primer followed by Humbrol 140 light green. Last layer was H-140 lightend up with flat white in an about 50:50 percent mixture which was thinned a lot.

Great job!

I have that kit and it is really old fuselage comes in four pieces
29 November 2015, 22:19
Christian Meyerhoff
Well John, It`s more building a boat than a plane.
30 November 2015, 06:23
Martien Lourens
I loved thse old kits. It goes well again.
30 November 2015, 09:25
Christian Meyerhoff
Thank You Martien! It`s not bad for a 50 years old kit. Simpel but nice.
30 November 2015, 11:43
Christian Meyerhoff
Small progress here...Fuselage almost finished.
4 December 2015, 19:58
Thomas Bischoff
I would not dare touch these old kits but it is a delight to see someone building them!
Very good job!
4 December 2015, 20:01
Christian Meyerhoff
Well Thomas, thanks a lot. These old kits are a piece of history in model making and always worth a build even today. Without those kits modelling would never came up to modern standarts. My Potez is a contribution for an online contest, which covers these subjects as well.
Just grab one of those old kits and get addicted 🙂 It`s a lot of fun.
4 December 2015, 20:20
Thomas Bischoff
To be honest: I have also three kits from the dawn of the plastic age. But only one of them is scheduled to be built one day
4 December 2015, 20:38
Christian Meyerhoff
Show it, show it, show it ... 🙂 What brands, what kits?
4 December 2015, 20:53
Thomas Bischoff
look at my 1:72 stash - the one to be built is the Williams Brother Curtiss Commando. Ever heard of an airline called Aeropa? Never took off - but they had two Commandos registered in Switzerland.
4 December 2015, 20:59
Stefan Fraundorfer
Hallo Christian!
5 December 2015, 16:31
John Bollig
Cool plane, just found mine in the stash.
5 December 2015, 22:43
Christian Meyerhoff
Many thanks mates!

@John: Will we see it here on SCM ?
5 December 2015, 23:30
Christian Meyerhoff
Small progress: Filled and sanded the fuselage and completed one of the engines. I opened all air intakes and drilled out the exhaust pipes.
9 December 2015, 18:42
Łukasz Gliński
Nice glass for such an old kit - did you tweak it somehow?
P.S. I hope the decals will arrive undamaged 🙂
9 December 2015, 20:28
Christian Meyerhoff
Many thanks Lukasz! I don`t know what You mean when You ask about "tweaking" the clear parts. These parts from the orginal Heller Kit are very thin and clear. As with all my clear parts I gave them a shot of Future Floor Wax and fixed them with Humbrol Clear Cote. This always works fine! 🙂
9 December 2015, 20:39
MICHAEL WOODHOUSE
The engine looking good - these I found involved the most work trying to eliminate seams and opening up intakes and vents. I did not fix the engine support rail as you have as it was not always evident on every photo I saw and not sure what it does anyway!!
9 December 2015, 22:21
Soeren R.
Great work so far!
I really love this kind of unusual planes! 🙂
10 December 2015, 06:33
Christian Meyerhoff
Thank You both!
@Michael: I didn`t think too much about these rails. They were there so I fixed them... 🙂
10 December 2015, 07:49
Holger Kranich
10 December 2015, 10:20
Łukasz Gliński
Hi Christian! This is exactly what I meant😉
10 December 2015, 19:49
Christian Meyerhoff
Well Lukasz, it`s always good to talk to each other😢 Best regards Mate!
10 December 2015, 20:35
Łukasz Gliński
Sure thing! Waiting for more pics in here 🙂

Bernhard Schrock
11 December 2015, 16:55
Mike Kryza
It's always a pleasure for my looking over your shoulder.
11 December 2015, 18:00
Martien Lourens
Nice progress
11 December 2015, 18:52
Christian Meyerhoff
Well Mates, I always try to do my best... Thank You !!!!!
@ Bernhard: Big, Bad and Ugly 🙂 But I like these airplanes from the 30th a lot.
@Mike: Dat ward op W-ooge heel best. 🙂
12 December 2015, 00:59
Mike Grant
Looking great so far Christian 👍 Can you recommend any good reference material for this aircraft? I'd like to build one myself.
12 December 2015, 01:18
Christian Meyerhoff
Some progress... Masked the clear parts with Tamiya tape and attached the wings. Masking this one took me about six hours because of the strange layout of the canopy. But now it's done 🙂
@ Mike: Sorry for delay! All my sources came from google. This is the first french plane I've ever build so far. It's not the easiest one because of the multi piece fuselage but very nice detailed for a fifty year old kit. The fit is not perfect but not that bad.
Best regards!
6 January 2016, 18:58
Martien Lourens
Six hours....wow. But it is going well. Nice interior. Self made belts, Christian ?
6 January 2016, 20:51
Christian Meyerhoff
THX Mart! Everything out of the box, seat belts are Tamiya tape.
7 January 2016, 06:14
Soeren R.
Great work so for, even more if you count in the fact how old this one is 🙂
7 January 2016, 06:17
Jan Voorbij
Ah, the flying refrigerator! Great.
7 January 2016, 07:12
Christian Meyerhoff
Thank You both! I choose this one for an online competition in the category vintage kits.
7 January 2016, 07:46
Łukasz Gliński
I'm just wondering - how are you going to paint it? Are you going to attach the engines after painting the rest, or the other way around?
7 January 2016, 08:26
Christian Meyerhoff
Hi Lukasz! I plan to do it like this:

1. Put the engines to the fuselage but only temporary.
2. Glue the wing struts to the wings but not to the engines. Allign everything and let it dry.
3. Remove the engines, but not the wing struts
4. Paint the whole airframe with several layers of Humbrol paint, put on the decals, weather it and seal it with clear cote.
5. Prime the engines with gloss black and finish them with Alclad 2. Seal everything with Alclad Aqua Gloss and let dry. Minor weathering on the engines with thinned oil paints
6. Clipping the finished engines between the wing struts and the fuselage and secure them with a drop of glue.
7. Doing the rigging with EZ Line.

Than this one should be finished. So let`s see how it gonna work 🙂
7 January 2016, 11:17
MICHAEL WOODHOUSE
I like it so far and with all that masking should be very nice, as I said before I coundn't face doing all that work on mine - I applied several coats of primer to wings and tailplane to obscure the heavy fabric detail and sounds as if you will be doing the same kind of thing.
7 January 2016, 22:27
Christian Meyerhoff
Thank You Michael!
8 January 2016, 08:58
Mathias Carl
Very nice work so far.
And an interessting subject too. 👍
Maybe you can bring it with you to Uplengen?
As "work-in-progress"? 🙂

Christian Keller
8 January 2016, 21:21
Stephan Ryll
I'll take a seat - looks nice 👍
9 January 2016, 09:20

Thx Stephan!

Small progress .... Started masking the turrets. A lot of tiny work. 🙂
