Just came across this. Thank you for sharing, it is a great intro into how these turnbuckles work.

That's it, Lochsa, you've got me persuaded. Your tests worked well. Very nice results. Any tips on threading the tiny pieces, and fixing the rigging line?

Album info

...like it says....a test of Eduard brand rigging methods

.....this is actually a 2006 ICM kit with Hasegawa repackaging.......both are a bit rough and not anything special in todays world....so, despite a couple of false starts with other rigging methods such as drilling, the decision was to make this a test bed for the Eduard Wire Stretchers and Control horns for rigging.....

...It was all done with no drilling, just CA glue.....these Eduard pieces are flexible once installed, compared to the Gaspatch resin and metal pieces, which either don't move or break if stressed....just not as accurate with little pads the pieces attach with out of scale.....there are for sure times Gaspatch would be more accurate and, in fact, once fully rigged with this method, all the correct angles would be there for drilling a second kit for the Gaspatch pieces.....

.....these Eduard PE pieces are from 2004 and could use some updating. The very cool pads for the base of struts that Gaspatch has no answer for (see photos) are only enough for one or two kits, while the control horns might last a lifetime!
