This is excellent work - one thing you might want to try for the photos is to use a black background and increase the amount of light on the model - right now the model is the darkest thing in the scene and it seems like you're losing a lot of contrast and detail as a result.

I think Zach has a point. This is a great build and it is quite dark. Is there a Lynx or a Wasp on the way?

Thank you all! I ned to get a blue background that size, that´ll be much easier on the photos. Maybe I´ll redo them yet, when I find the time. I also need to make an album of the in-progress images with some proper captions yet.
I chose not to build the Lynx provided with the kit this time, and keep the hangar closed and the netting up. I´m currently working on the Atlantic Models gun-armed Leander. That has a Wasp, and I think I´ll show that one inside the hangar for a change.

Sehr schön! Impressive "water work"! And I like the forlorn sailors on deck .......

Very cool 👍 That raised upper bow reminds me of our old (now gone) Leander class frigates. Really nice work.

Thanks a lot for the comments and the likes! I finally got a new photo backdrop and find the blue both more pleasing visually and also more helpful re contrast. I also got another shade of blue, two greys and one in black - for more tests.

Album info

This Artitec resin kit depicts the Dutch version of the British Leander class guided missile frigates after their mid-life modernization in the 1970s. Outwardly, the British twin 4.5 inch gun turret was replaced by a 3 inch Otobreda gun. The main radar arrays were updated. Two quadruple Harpoon launchers were installed on the aft superstructure. The stern „Limbo" ASW launcher was removed, its well plated over, thus enlarging the helo deck. Moving the VDS array to a location inside the hull freed yet more space and enabled the vessels to operate a Lynx instead of the original Wasp helo. Two triple Mk.32 torpedo launchers were installed right abaft the hangar. Inside, the ship´s Combat Management System was updated and the power plant also modernized, with a view to crew reduction. The reduced complement improved habitability.
The kit is currently available from Naval Models. Upon inquiring, they told me that it is basically the same kit with some minor tweaks: Some resin sprues have been changed slightly with a view to easier part removal, the PE fret is the same but thinner now, and the markings now come as waterslide decals from Fantasy Printshop.
I added a machined brass barrel by Master plus Atlantic Model´s RN railings PE set, plus some leftover WEM helo deck netting and some fine wire for the antennae. I really enjoyed building this kit and can but recommend it.
