Album info

This old classic was passed on to me by an old friend. Back when we were in our 'teens, I was an avid model maker - my friend wasn't, but though he's give it a go. He started on this one around 1988, tried doing extra's but lost interest very quickly and it got put in the cupboard and forgotten about for many years. In the late 1990's he found it again and passed it onto me.....only for me to put it away in the loft as I had to put the hobby aside soon after due to other commitments. Forward onto 2020, and this is the model that gets me thinking about getting back into the hobby.

The box contents were complete apart from the pilot being MIA. The cockpit floor and seat bulkhead had been cut and modified in an effort to start super detailing, so was in quite a few pieces. Some scratch building had been done on the cockpit side walls too.

So, first tasks were to finish off the side walls, then re-construct the cockpit back to out-the-box condition.

At this time I hadn't plucked up the courage to try out the airbrush or acrylics, to the first few bits of painting of the interior were done by brush with Humbrol enamels. The rest of the build will likely be finished by airbrush.

Some initial fit issues, but nothing that can't be taken care of by careful dry-fitting and fettling. Very much a WiP. Will post more shots as the project continues!
