Album info

This project is using a second-hand built kit of the 1:12th Bengal Lancer sourced off eBay. The model had been finished in an alternative uniform design and colour, and was brought as an alternative to breaking open the original (sealed) kit I have in the stash.

I was well aware of the condition of the built model at the time of purchase, but considering my plan to do a full rebuild it wasn't an issue.

The model was dismantled (luckily it had been built using what looked like Uhu adhesive), and the figure and most of the horse and tack was stripped of paint using Revell Paint Remover.

The jacket breast pockets had been cut out and the holes covered with bits of plasticard, and the ammunition pouch, part of the sabre handle and a couple of bits of the bridle were missing - but this will all be easily replaced by scratch-building and/or sculpting. The original kit base and name plaque was also missing, and had been replaced with (what was now) a rather well worn wooden plinth.

Currently very much a WiP, the bulk of the subassemblies are back together, have been primed, and are now in the process of being cleaned up ready for colour with any missing details being restored.
The jacket breast pockets have been re-sculpted using miliput, and the gauntlets have been removed from the arms to allow for ease of modifying and painting later on.

The saddle is now being re-worked as some items had been removed by the previous builder. These will be replaced with plasticard and miliput as appropriate.

More photos will follow as the project progresses!
