I was going to save this one as a surprise while working on the F-82, but I couldn't help myself. I think this Turboprop Mustang will look nice beside the Twin-Mustang. A pair of odd horses...

The original was Southeast Asia pattern. I haven't decided if I'm doing that or a more what-if scheme.

Thanks mates! So far everything fit like kit parts. Hardly any putty was needed.

I also need to decide on some ordinance. The pictures I've seen look like it was taken from an A-37.

Not happy with SAC metal landing gear. They were bent out of shape upon arrival. Aren't these supposed to be stronger than the plastic ones??

Added a pic if the intake removal plug on the underside. This is the only part of the conversion that will require work. The rest has just fallen together.

The sac stuff is stronger, but it it still just white metal so not that strong.
I have a B-25 that with weights to get it to sit on its nose, must weigh about 5-600 grams. Every couple of months I have to bend the SAC undercarriage straight because over time it bends.

Thanks Chris! Thanks for the info Augie, I don't know if I'll mess with them anymore unless it's to replace damaged gear. Daniel I've been known to mess up a perfectly good kit 🙂 Going to fill those gaps tonight along with the tedious job of the F-82 props.

Added Eduard color seatbelts. That was too easy, I'm stopping for the day before something goes wrong.

Landing gear completed and ready to be attached. Added pic. Changed my mind on the ordinance and decided to switch out the clusters for LAU-3 rocket pods. Moving the clusters to the B-26K build.

I'm kinda doing a double build right now. This and the B-26K share the same camo so I already have all the paint out and ready.

Think I figured out a repair using a lucky find in the parts box. While executing this repair I managed to cut myself with my razor saw though and while trying to stop the blood I broke the propeller on the A-26. I'm taking a few days off! Thanks for the compliment Clifford 🙂

Painting has begun! Started with the bottom color and then continued to the top with some pre-shading. Also, I did the scariest part for me and painted the clear green on the canopy. This was the first time I have ever used AK Interactive paint and was very happy with the result.

The vac canopy has been giving me fit problems. The entire piece fit horribly so I cut it down and attached to the original Tamiya part which helped considerably. Once I attached that completed part it didn't fit to the front windscreen, so cut the frame from the original Tamiya part and with much agitation was able to get it to work. I'll post a picture of it soon.

Painting operations completed. Just some touch up on a couple of areas, then on to decals and weathering. Used Polly-Scale Acrylics for the tan & medium green. AK real for the dark green (more testing of the line).

You got it Chris!
This is the test for Future gloss since I was too chicken to use the AK real laquer over the acrylic.

The stuff went on easy and levels out nice. I did notice that it took considerably more coats to get the AK Real paint (darkest green) to attain a gloss finish.
Thanks Clifford.
No one asked what the black square was for...

I see it now... it kind of blends into the photo and the thumbnail bar... What is it?... I'm assuming it's something that is personal and you blocked it out. But now that you called attention to it... kinda makes me think maybe something else.

And now !. Here is something completely different. !
You have obviously researched the matter well, and the belly pan is just amazing. 🙂
I like what your thinking has produced. 👍

I'll admit I did go a little on the "what-if" side of things with influence from my A-26K build. Should post some photos this evening of the finished product. Had some real issues with the main decal falling apart, but I'm happy to say I saved it!
