This model of a P-40B was built for display on an O-scale model railroad at the RealRail Model Railroad Club in Sarasota, FL. The model represents the aircraft type (if not exact model version) of Warhawk used for Advanced Fighter Training of pilots transitioning from Basic Training to War Zone squadrons. Since the squadrons in this fight training group were usually only 6 month temporary assignments, no unique squadron paint schemes or squadron markings were developed. Aircraft were olive drab with minimal insignia, only the yellow block lettered serial number on the tail.
