I modified the engines to include some additional plumbing,

The pod jets were modified to hide the attachment point, the open nozzle was filled and carved out and all 4 bells were drilled out.

Album image #9
I made my own engine baffles as the kit main engines were missing them.

Album image #10
I sprayed various grays over the "open" framework.

Album image #11
I used a vynal masking kit to cover all the framework open areas. I used the masks to also cover the black areas around the nose cone.

After spraying the base color I applied some maskes to start the aztek colors on the fuselage.

Album image #13
After multiple colors the aztec masking was removed.

Decals were terrible, but I got the most important ones on nicely like the cockpit with pilot heads.

Album image #15
Assembly of all the main pieces was easy after painting.

Album image #16
The rear egine assembly required some work to get it to attach correctly.

Album image #17
The last items to go on were the 4 way jets on each landing gear pod.

Alpha Moonbase, Deep Space, 2001

Space: 1999 is a British science-fiction television series that ran for two seasons and originally aired from 1975 to 1977. In the opening episode, set in the year 1999, nuclear waste stored on the Moon's far side explodes, knocking the Moon out of orbit and sending it, as well as the 311 inhabitants of Moonbase Alpha, hurtling uncontrollably into space. The Eagle Transporters serve as the primary spacecraft of Moonbase Alpha, which has a fleet of them, and are often used to explore alien planets, defend Moonbase Alpha from attack, and to transport supplies and other items to and from the Moon. The Eagle was designed by Brian Johnson who had worked with Gerry Anderson on Thunderbirds in the mid-1960s and had produced the spacecraft for the 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey.
