Thanks James - thought I should get at least something out there as have been working away on this and will close her up soon. Most of what you see now as they say will be lost to the naked eye. There is so much you could do with the interior especially with all the after market stuff that you would have to 'explode' the model to apprieciate. Anyway, looking forward to cracking on and getting some paint on the outside.

Hi Thomas - yes best Walkaround there is! Have been several times now especially when a Model Show is held there - in May I think every year and its free - even better - ha.

Any decent air museums in Switzerland - a place I have only briefly visited once before and certaintly on my 'To Do' list for the future.

The Swiss Air Force Museum in Dübendorf is worth a visit. If you are lucky you can watch a Ju-52 jump into the air .
But the collection is nowhere near what the RAF museum can offer.
And you pay an entrance fee.

Thanks Mike for Museum link - always on the outlook for a trip somewhere! Also thanks Soeren and Christain. Thomas did you know I like JU-52's by any chance! One of my best oversea's Museum trip with a couple of friends was to sinsheim.technik-museum.de/en/ in Germany - very good with lots of other stuff. To cut a very long story short, I was building an Opel Blitz model and they were displaying one there. So I built a trip up around that - only problem was when I got there it was not!!!! HeyHo

Thanks Clifford - I am struggling a bit on on colours - I want to use Tamiya and it calls out for 'Flying boats, floatplanes and amphibians to use pattern 1 and to have Temperate Sea Scheme uppersurfaces (Extra Dark Sea Grey and Dark Slate Grey) with Sky undersurfaces'. Fine, but there seems to be a good choice of greys and greens to go at. Anybody got a definitive answer? I have sorted the under surface colour out but not the others - am thinking at mo XF22 RLM Grey + XF61 Dark Green

Thanks Christian - I am now on the finals! have painted everthing I can think off and its pretty much ready to unmask and finish adding the remaining external parts like floats. As for colours I went Tamiya XF-82 Ocean Gray 2 + XF22 RLM Grey on upper surfaces and quite pleased with sutble contrast and effect. I have 'chickened' out of any heavy weathering as dont want to spoil what is for me a pretty good finish. Will post pics on completion which should be soon.

Thanks guys - James , the fit is not too bad generally- just a bit of fettling here and there. Yes you are right not many Sunderlands in the Projects Section to look over. Its quite a big kit even in 1/72 and you need plenty of elbow room around it when constructing. I decided to mount on a base to show off its graceful flying lines - my advice to any other propective builders is dont spend too much time on interior details!!!
