Pave, Just watched the parade, want to see one in person one day. Struggled with the face, not my strong suite. Was surprised to find there was no medal issued for battle of kursk, was going to source a copy and add. Did you see latest Nomadic Neiman output? Yak next I think. Still haven't got ship mounts for my Kirov, so awaiting that to finish her. Su-33 moving up build list. Do you know this sculpture or the sculptor that crafted it. Great figure, the person who did he box art is great painter, couldn't tell if it was sweat running down side of face or tears, dirt mixed with that was great look, I tried to replicate. The soldier looks sad and worried, rightly so. The sculptor is very talented. Wish Tank or Stalingrad did some large scale Russian figures or busts, I wrote requesting once. So many German, so few Russian. Shame as topic is immense. Found a nice one from Borodino in 1812 though not in love with his headgear. Just purchased a nice space one of Yuri Gagarin so looking forward to that arriving. Orange flight suit will be nice colour in cabinet. Hope all is well

Well, painting faces may not be the strongest of your skills, but here it does look lifelike and, really, good enough for a very pleasant viewer impression! I've just seen this kit in online shops for sale, that's why I said "I know it". And yes, the painting from the box art is magnificent.
They say there's no medal for Kursk because Stalin was outraged at the time, he didn't see it as a victory (germans eventually fell back on their own), parts of southern battles were failed completely... In 2003 there was a commemorative medal issued - zasluga.ru/catalog.php?tovar_id=3463 - but that's all.
Sure, I've seen your latest works, I just wasn't commenting or being responsive much of lately.

Yes, it is only for me so happy with result, just wished it was a little better, don't we all wish that.
Thanks for the link, wasn't aware of that. Interesting about Stalin. I use this battle and Stalingrad in tactics lessons I teach, and never knew that little fact. Wasn't sure whether you meant you knew of this figure or you knew the sculptor. I'm always amazed at how small a world it is and who knows who. Hope everything is ok
