Yes Joseph, the equipment is too clean. The bird is A+.

Great job! Still seems strange to me seeing a 'Chippy' F/A-18 "Super Hornet"! Helpful hint: the ONLY times a carrier aircraft will have it's wings spread is on landing & taking off. 😉

Indeed Calvin but you have to remember the Revell hornet does not come with the flap slat and wing fold option as the hobby boss an hasegawa F18's do but regardless the Revell f18 is a very nicely accurate and detailed kit for a third of the price I cut and dropped the flaps and rudders but I don't have the know how to scratch build the wing fold.

I do understand. I've got several still in the stash. I just have a hard time deciding which of my old units to do! :-D

VFA-195 ChippyHO Dambusters are stationed at NAS Astugi Japan whenever the USS George Washington leaves port in Japan her air wing including VFA-195 are normally stationed on her.

I think VFA-195 converted to the E a few years ago. but there are a few other the still fly the C an D.

CVW-5 in Atsugi is now an all-Super Hornet cag now, yes. About a month ago the GW swapped out with the Ronald Reagan - the GW is in Norfolk now for a refuelling. Apparently the only place they do that for carriers now. I miss my time in Atsugi. I was with the VFA-192 'Golden Dragons from Jan. 2001 to Mar. 2005, then again with VFA-27 from April 2008 until Mar. 2011. Retired after my time here at NAWS China Lake. 🙂

oh I have always loved VFA- 192's Cag birds very colorful I don't know what there cag bird looks like now but that blue paint they used with the gold dragon too use was so pretty.

The two main problems I have with my diorama is one the green on the real dambusters bird is a lot darker so DXM decals messed that up

and I only found that out when the build was finished but I still like it.
2 the navy has not had yellow painted tugs tow bars and chocks sence the 80's I think. To which I knew that to begin with but I have always liked the yellow they should have never changed it to white but that's just my opinion.

What ever the differences you find here, the overall 'appearance' is just a delight to look at, as I should imagine it took many many hours to get it to this stage, and Mr Johnson, you seem to be content to be looking at it with great pleasure for a long time to come.🙂
I like it a lot. 👍.
