Thanks Guys! I think this year there were more great trucks than i'd seen in a long time, The Aussie custom trucks are a lot different to their U.S. cousins the fuel tanks and Bull Bars set them apart. So there was hours of conversion work done on most of these models. I was also lucky to find The Kenworth "Hide Out Truck" still sealed picked that up for $60 pretty good. That means i'll be on the lookout for a Bandag Bandit to go with my Super Boss/Papa Truck set. Not sure why i grabbed the SR.N4 Hovercraft??? seemed like a good idea but i may offer that up for sale as long as i get my money back on it, The bags are all sealed and the box is in very good shape. 🙂 Thanks for looking.

Cheers Holger, You guys show us some great stuff from the other side of the world, So i like showing you guys what we get up to down here! But this was only a small amount of what was on display, I only photograph things that stand out to me but the quality of builds is very good across the event every year.

I like the GAF Nomad, never knew anyone made a model of it...

Hi Gordon, I believe that the GAF Nomad was a large scale scratchbuilt model, very well done too. And the most amazing thing was the very large scale (not sure if it was even bigger than half scale?) model of the Indian motorcycle it was about 5 feet long!! and looked like a kid could ride it!

Managed to miss this year's comp, nice haul Glenn! The Nomad was built by 'Uncle Les' from scratch who released a range of resin kits including 1/72 and 1/48 Nomads last century.

Hi Ray, There was a large "Estate" sale with almost everything from the 70's Airfix range and many other interesting resin items including all those 1/72 Welsh Models airliners i picked up. Really glad to get the Comet 1 and 4 airliner kits plus the Boeing BBJ and the Airbus A320 that might end up wearing a Ansett Olympic 2000 scheme? I've got a Uncle Les Nomad but i think i like the Planet Models one a bit more. I have also just stocked up on AMT RC-135V's, I scored two more on ebay there on the way! cheers Glenn

Album info

Well it's that time of the year again. The biggest event in Melbourne the EXPO as before it's run from setup on Friday to the Queens birthday holiday on Monday. Held in the Members function room under the grandstand. Sandown Racecourse is the home to both a motor racing track and horse racing track! Anyway enjoy the pics! I don't know who owns what or what got an award. Look at the model EXPO site for that info!
