Album info

I want to show you my small oceangoing tug boat "JEAN BART" in scale 1/200 by Heller. The kit is a very old one, was on the market several times as "SAMSON" or "JEAN BART" in the past. The details of the kit are ... "older-style"... not so sharp as new kits, not so detailed, some parts a little bit "oversized".... but all in all ... a good looking kit, a wonderful ship and therefore a nice model as base for some modifications. What I have done?
- Cut away of the lower part of the hull... made a waterline version and placed it in the water diorama
- Real wooden deck by Artwox instead of the "plastic wooden decks". Therefore transferred the deck scheme on the Artwox wood sheet and cut out....
- Wavebraker and other details on the deck made of PE-parts and plastic material
- All railings, ladders, stairways made of PE-parts, parts which I still have left from Merit, Trumpeter, MK.1, Tetra, .....
- Opened all windows and portholes, "glass" made of Micro Cristal Clear
- Rigging with LD-Line
- Weathering with oil
