tried the Aber pe for German helmets (German helmets – liners, chinstraps (Aber 35A69, 1:35))... well it looks great when done, but there are some issues:
at first you have to drill out the helmet you´re using... you have to remove quite a lot plastic, but don´t remove too much... 😉
Don´t trust the instructions: they want you to put the leather inlet in first (which is wrong and thankfully not working). Start with the PE strip instead, make shure it fits in deep enough, be prepared to cut off some excses PE...
add the leather inlet (wich is a bit too winde) and the small ring.
finaly add the straps of your liking...

started another one, a "Volkssturmmann" from the Zvezda set... not bad figures at all, but with some room for improvements:
I modelled a stick greade in his pocket (nothing wrong with it, just the late model), the milliput looks a bit rugh, but this is fixed by now.
created some undercut on the coat, futher imrovements will include hollowing up the sleves and replacing the head

Thanks... I´m currently a bit in a testing and experimenting procress, clearly inprired by Jerry Rutman who´s doing pretty amazing figure conversions: armorama.com/modules..&ord=&page=1
a pretty long way to go, but it´s quitte fun...

A little break from all the plastic and brass: Yet again I´m amazed by the quality of ICMs recent figures.

Interesting Fabian!!! I can adapt your techniques and methods for my F1 figures.
So I'm following this too😢
Always willing to learn😄👍

Thanks Steve... But what you see is already 3 steps away from the first coat of paint. I´ll try to be more detailed on the little boy... which might help you a bit more than that fieldgrey on the Hauptman😉

Fabian, one thing I did like was the Grenade stick you added to the guy wearing a leather coat.
What I was thinking, was a 1950's Ferrari pit scene with a mechanic in overalls, leaning on the car with a spanner and rag sticking out his rear pocket, looking at the engine... Possibly Monaco, not sure yet, still turning it over in my mind and playing with ideas, making drawings and notes, so I don't forget them. What your doing is creative as well and is making me think more...

Oh, that... I´ve done that im April/May this year...so I hadn´t that on the screen first. I did use this Album because my album section is already pretty messed up😉
Such small sculpting jobs aren´t that difficult. You´ve got the are around as a guide, no real "free sculpting", more filling a hole (which you have to create first, of course😉 ) Take the time to do several layers/"sub-assemblies" and let that what you´ve sculpted cure first before attatching new sculpting. (Saving results, so to say.)
Would be verry cool you show us what you´re stuffing in the mechanics pockets 👍 😄

Thanks Fabian...
But I will keep watching and following you, as I seem to be able to pop ideas from your work🙂
Once my idea has fully bloomed and I've finaly come up with a workable result, I'll start an album, watch this space!!! Well not this actual space, as it's yours, oh! you know what I mean!!! Lol (((😄 )))

Used one of your watches today, Essi. No problem at all, at least if you glue the clock on first and take care of the band later. (I think taking on a real watch might take me longer than that😉 )
Congartulations to your for your design. But to be honest, I´ve added a small pice scrap PE to improve the look even more😉
