Hi Fabian. Looks good so far. I am working on the Trumpeter KV-1E and also had the double marks on each link. A bit time consuming. I also hadn't decided to use the length and link tracks and now will have a harder time installing them. I will follow your method next time and deal with it with the running gear off of the hull.

Fabian D.
Thx, Alan... and well spotted. You're right, I completed the running gear first and attached it after I got the tracks on... I just forgot to mention that ...

Frank Krause
Jonns: Aha, looks like greetings from Wangerooge! I still haven't decided, what to build. May be I'll do that after your arrival in Nuremberg.
James: Where's the beer...?
Fabian: Go ahead! Nice progress. What do you think about the ICM figures?
4 March 2014, 08:11
Jonns Pfeiffenberger
Och Frank, when I see your stock, I think we will find some nice stuff to build😉 👍
4 March 2014, 08:24
Fabian D.
Right, Frank´s got some real nice kits to choose from...😉

The Revell/ICM´s are qualitywise a bit outdated, with sinkmarks on half of the legs and caps and some nasty cooling lines, which you can´t really fill and just overpainting isn´t enough either (at least on the other set I´ve started)...
But detail is good, and the posen unique... the "Ritterkreuz" seems to be a bit too much "honor" for my purpose... but I´ll check that...

If I can get bothered to heat up the basement, I´ll put the coulor on today😉
6 March 2014, 12:29
Fabian D.
I could get bothered... paint is on...
@Jonns: Better take another kit with you... they build up way to fast😉

Well... I started on Saturday, went to two birthdays and was busy two entire days with "Fasching"... and as I planed to finish the waethering today...it´s going to be indeed a record for me...😉

Alan Rush
Nice dot filtering. Was it white, brown, green with black on the hinges?
25 March 2014, 23:59
Fabian D.
thanks Alan... you´re right, I´ve used the black around the spots were dirt can settle easier

I have the basecoat on my KV I and will try that combination. I have added yellow before but will keep it out this time.
26 March 2014, 00:35
Fabian D.
you can basicially use all colors... really depends on what you aiming for... I´ve just wanted to blend part of my rather distinct finish with the sprayed light and shades of the base color... so if you want to add some extra color yellow isn´t a bad choice

Blue baby, blue dots.....

Thanks guys, the project collected some dust again, but now at least the filtering is done... I´m thinking of some (tiny) rust spots, rain marks and ... well let´s see😉

This my contribution toTNKR-, or "Get it done!"- group build😉 I haven´t coosen it for a special reason, it was just in reach at a momnet of frustration with some nasty PE...
The inscription was done with white emanel paint and the washed a bit down with turpentine. Is supposed to look like written with white chalk.

I´ve fitted the tank to its base now and started with some pigments, but I´m not entirely happy with result...

pretty cool idea! Love those old photos of tanks painted or adorned with road signs....I remember one little Russian tank that had so many signs on it you could barely see it was a tank!

That´s a great idea and a nice model, Fabian.
As far as I meanwhile know you I guess you have researched the distance from Berlin to Moscow, did ya?😉
3 February 2015, 07:15
Fabian D.
Thanks guys.
To be honest, I'm not entirely happy with the end result. Problem with that is, I've built it about a year ago, completed most of it a bit later. But I feel like I must have doubled my skills in weathering techniques since then. That seemed to bother me so much that it took about 10 moths to complete the Diorama around it.
@Matthias: I bet I did. Cant remember right now. Might be somewhere near Leningrad.😉
