Thank you mates! I am very happy with my first prehistoric build. And happy you like seeing something different. I love all genres and love seeing anything others have taken the time to build and enjoy. I love this hobby. 🙂

Awesome paint work! The display base is fantastic as well. As already stated, it is a treat to see something different, and as well done as this.

Thank you Christian and Albert! I have several albums in my gallery of my other interests (aircraft and girls) as well. Working on my first automotive and armor subjects in nearly 25 years as well. Hope I can do them justice.

Well Christian, there is a possibility in the future for an Italian battleship. Not sure whether to do a 1/700th or a 1/350th. I did see that Trumpeter has a 1/350th scale one. I would love to do that one. Just not sure how to fit the build time in around all my other projects. But would love to do one. I do want to know I can build quality models of all genres. 🙂

Kevin, there is a scale 1/350 Roma from Trumpeter. May Jim Baumanns article on Modelwarships is for your interest. modelshipgallery.com..mann/user-index.html
There is also a small Frigate in scale 1/350 from Niko.

Wow, that was a huge and very comprehensive article. The build was fantastic. The only thing I noticed that it did not have the red and white deck stripes that I thouhgt it carried. But perhaps the era version he biult did not have them. But it was a beautiful build. The other ship was also very impressive. Still insure about when I might try a ship, but hope to someday. I was considering, also, one of the one man mini subs as that would be closer to what I am already doing. We will see. 🙂

Hi Kevin,
looks great!
I like this theme, and I`ve a question. Would you recommend some sources for Dinosaur kits, unpainted and unassembled??
Thx in advance.

Dirk, there are several places you can find dino kits. If you are wanting plastic you just need to go to normal sources. There are not a lot of really good kits there in my opinion, though there are a few new ones coming out that should be good. I will have to try to remember theri name. I build almost exclusively resin. Dan's Dinosaurs is a good source from several sculptors. There are several amazing artists there. Also you can find some smaller scale stuff in 3D print at Shapeways now. Geene Models has several available there now. Creative Beast is really good and may not be available at Dan's (can't remember). Shane Foulkes is a super awesome sculptor and a really great guy. So far I have met several of the artists and they have all been good guys. Let me know if you need more help. Where are you located by the way? Louisville's Wonderfest is a great event and several of the sculptors set up there.

Hi Kevin,
thx for your fast answer.
At first, my location is in Germany. 😉
Too far away from any nice Wonderfest in the states. 🙂 Sadly.....
I wasn' t looking for plastik models. Dan' s Dinosaurs are just of that fine models what I' m looking for.
A friend of me is collecting painted and assembled Dinosaur models. I was very impressed as I could examine his amazing livingly collection from Sideshow Collectibles.
This stunning models in mind, I believe that only Resin models could be a solution for me. 🙂
Your hunting Gastornis catching a Propalaeotherium is truly stunning and after watching your amazing model, I catched the fire to paint a Dinosaur.
Like you, I' m not really fixed for only one theme.🙂
In hope to see more of your impressiv models.

That is awesome if I have helped inspire you to take a go at a dinosaur model! I look forward to seeing a future build from you. 🙂 Oh by the way the company that will be doing more mainstream affordable kits from some really great sculptors is Pegasus. And yes, Dan's Dinosaurs is a great source. Hope you do well getting a nice kit from them to work on.

Album info

Just started officially building prehistoric animals in 2013. I built some kits as a kid back in the 60's (old Pyro and some skeletons, all long gone), but this is my first serious attempt at building in the genre of my longtime love for these animals.
