I like the colors. What is the base coat?

Hi Mike,I'm glad you like the colors i think the brown is to red, but the color i used on the base coat is Polly Scale Italian camo yellow F505294 its basically a real lightened dark yellow, but the brown wash darkened it up a bit

Thanks William. I asked because I have been using Tamiya dark yellow for a few years and I am honestly fed up with it. It continues to darken long after it dries. Sometimes turning completely green. Even after mixing it with a lighter color or spraying a lighter color over it. I'll never use it for german camo again.🙁

..Interesting topic.
Sort of relevant to what I?m up to on a King Tiger.
I?ve been using AK Interactive?s German Dunkelgelb Modulation set, but I am about out of the base color (AK 006) because the nipple stuck to the inside of the cap. I didn?t notice this and shot like ¾ of the 17ml bottle all over the place. There was no small amount of cussing as a result. My face is a mask of shame.
Anyway, AK Interactive doesn?t sell the individual shades of dunkelgelb, not even the base.
So I picked up a bottle of Vallejo #73604; German Dark Yellow Primer. It?s a 60ml bottle and cost $5.79 at Scale Hobbyist scalehobbyist.com/
I?ve compared the Vallejo with the AK Interactive and they are virtually indistinguishable??..at $5.79 per 60ml, I?ll go with the Vallejo Primer.
This is what I?ll be using for the base color of the King Tiger I?m currently building?.
Thought this might help??.
Keep posting guys, love your stuff!

Just a thought William...maybe a light green filter over the red will brown it up some? (Red+green=brown?)

Hey Mike like James recommended, try the Vallejo colors i dont think you will be disappointed, I have never used the AK stuff but many people swear by them but the en ability to buy individual colors is a little disappointing and i will try to filter the red with green got nothing to lose at this point
@ SCM79 thank you but i got a few things to do before its finished but this weekend i will stick a fork in it

Sorry! I saw that movie many years ago, when i couldn't modify any military vehicles! May be they are not AB41s, but they were shown in last third of movie.

the autoblinda is now complete and on a base, i really should have spent more time on the figure thou but im happy with it. nice kit with some detail inside the turret, wish it would have the rest of the interior i would have liked to leave the hatches and doors opened.
