The paint mule, that came alive!
When I was preparing to paint the 1:32 scale I'm currently working on, I thought best to try out some mottling (definitely not not my strong siut) on an old, half build "something". That something the still very very good Amtech kit, re-boxed by Tamiya. After my mottling attempt came out better than expected, I decided to finish this kit. However, 10 years on the shelf of shame left its mark. Some parts were missing or broken and needed to be replaced. Luckily one of the parts that I had to replace were the main gear legs....I never really liked how this kit "sits" on the ground....completely horizontally an (I.m.h.o.) way to high. Like a barrel on stills 😉
I hope you like it 🙂

Good job, Sebastian! I like this kit too 🙂 And you're right - now it looks much better!

Thanks mates, much appreciated! ....apologies for my slightly incoherent description above. I wasn't drunk, just very, very tired 😉
@Robert Podkoński: Thanks mate! The gear legs came from a Me 262 (Hobby Boss I believe...), the wheels are from a He 162 because they look much more "German" than the original kit parts. Besides the main kit parts, the whole thing is basically cobbled together from the spares box and survivors of an Aires detail set. Glad it worked out 😉
@Daniel: thanks a lot mate. It's not perfect, but it certainly gives me the confidence to tackle some more projects, involving mottling 👍

Great job! Have you seen the actual partially finished mock up in 1:1 scale captured at the end of the war?

Very nice!
I've done the Amtech one and your undercarriage does look better. Your painting looks a lot better than mine as well.

Great job Sebastian 👏👏
Really love the look of the Ta183, even on stillts🙂
Is it me, or is the 8 upside down?

Thanks mates! Much appreciated 👍
@gorby: your interpretation is a beauty in its own right! And you came up with a unique camouflage scheme... I just "transplanted" a late war Fw 190 scheme to my model 😉
@Jan: you might think it is upside-down...I thought so too. So much so, that I measured the two circles of the eight. They're exactly the same width. So it's just an optical illusion....even though a really enoying one😎
