Storm Shadow

Album image #1
Box... note Ukraine colours (that's where ResKit are), so a rare instance of Storm Shadow going from Ukraine to the UK.

Album image #2
Lots of parts, ready for a rinse.

Album image #3
Need to cut off all that lattice support work, and sand down where they touch surfaces.
Annoyingly, there is only one of the metal top surface plates, have contacted ResKit to see if they can send me a replacement, otherwise it'll be bodge-it time and the Dremel will be coming out.

Album image #4
Bit more sprue still to trim - loving the colour on the tiny mounting points (Tamiya titanium gold, for the record).

Album image #5
Microturbo TRI 60 turbojets, with a wash to make the detail stand out

Album image #6
Doing one in flight and one in wings-folded pre-launch configuration
Dry fit, held together with masking tape because...

Album image #7
... I'm trying to gauge the Centre of Gravity so thet can both fly 🙂
(OK, bit moot for the wings-folded version, shush.)

Album image #8
First coat of "Storm Shadow grey" (Mr Hobby H335 Medium Sea Grey) on 3 sides (primarily to get some under the wings before I fit them.
(And 2 ResKit 1:72 Exocets that I'm doing too, which I don't think warrant their own album or project on here, although had nearly as many parts as the 1:32 Storm Shadows!)

Album image #9
With wings, and hanging brackets

Album image #10
Open up and say "aaaah" (left one at least).

Album image #11
Incoming swarm.

Album image #12
All over bar the shouting... well, bar the arrival of a replacement part that tracking says is still in Kyiv airport (photo etched top plate for one of them).

Album image #13
And now you may join in with "spot the cockup", but this one wasn't my fault - the instructions on the top down view have the ordnance stripes the wrong way around, and guess which part of the instructions I was following...

Album image #14
Spot the cock up continues... and this one is 100% not on me.
Two yellow ordnance bands = live HE round.
But the writing on the side says "INERT" (so should be blue bands if true). Were ResKit looking at a demo model when they copied down the stencils, by any chance? 😉

Album image #15
In the post today (predictably, took longer to get through UK Customs and the Royal Mail than it did to get through war-torn Ukraine...).

Album image #16
Tra-da, not just one but *two* spare photo-etch top panels for my Storm Shadows.

Album image #17
Replacement top-panel painted, varnished and fitted.
Left: Storm Shadow / SCALP in flight, wings and ventral fins extended.
Right: Storm Shadow to be carried on a Tornado or Su-24 (note top adaptor), wings and fins retracted, and (underneath) air intake covered.

Album image #18
On display, in one of my top display cases (for now at least!).
