Bill Gilman Is this a new tool? How does the kit look? We desparately need a good 1:72 scale kit of the Vildebeest!

Wilfried Bogaerts Hi Bill, yes completely new tool, and nice it is too. The plastic is clean and crisp with no visible ejector marks. You get a very detailed interior, combination of plastic, resin and etch, you even get etched seat belts! The engine is resin and plastic and looks ok. I only found some minor flash on one of the torpedo halves and the propeller but nothing to worry about. The torpedo is nicely detailed with etched fins and propellers and the torpedo suspension unit is made of one piece etched metal which looks extremely fragile and will probably be the most challenging part of the build? Wings, tailplanes and rudder are one piece each with nice ribbing detail. The upper wing has moulded-in bulges where the fuel-tanks are located, nice touch! Clear parts, however tiny, are crystal clear and the decals are glossy, sharp, in register and you even get stencilling. 4 options are provided, 2 alu dope and 2 camouflaged. A simple rigging diagram is printed in the instructions. Colours are given in Gunze and FS. One remark, I don't like the way the wheels are moulded, wheels and spats are moulded together and comes in 2 halves which is a shame but if painted carefully this will not be very noticeable. In the hands of a skilled builder this can become a gem of a model! Beware, I can't comment on fit of the parts ... all parts are still on the sprues. If you want a Vildebeest, get one, I'm sure it will look great next to that Airfix Swordfish you have in your wishlist!

Bill Gilman Thank you so much for this "mini-review." It sounds like a great kit, and a great subject! Will be adding to my wishlist right away!
