I just wrote out a long description of the differences and it went blooey! DAMN!! The "Cliffs'Notes are the -1D's are all Dragon and essentially unavailable. The -1C's are all MRC/Academy and all the variants (Frog, Hog, Gunship, etc.) are the same under the skin. The only differences are decals & armaments. The -1C is a Bell 204 and the -1D (H) are Bell 205's and are a bit bigger & longer.
I said that I could let you have my -1C Frog (see stash) for $20-$25 and we can split the shipping. That way you can try your hand at it without spending a ton to see if you even like building helicopters. It will come out nice, though.
Contact me via email and we can go from there, OK?
